| Tried and True Activities that Don’t
Cost a Thing! |
| |
|
Here are some simple ideas for activities your kids will love and they won’t
cost you a thing!
Dress Ups
Have a look through your wardrobe for old clothes, shoes, hats, socks and
jewellery. Kids love to dress up in oversized clothes that once belonged to
Mum and Dad.
Make an Inside Cubby
Making a cubby inside is simple. All you need are blankets or sheets and
chairs. Drape the blanket or sheet over 4 chairs and crawl inside. Teddies,
dolls and other friends can join in the fun. A great indoor activity for rainy
days.
Make Sock Puppets
Any socks you no longer wear can be given new life as a hand puppet. Sew
on some old buttons to make eyes and a new friend will appear. Additional
features such as hair, hats and glasses can be created using bits of scrap
material, pipe cleaners or a fabric marker.
Visit the Local Library
The local library has lots of children’s books to borrow and read at home.
Many libraries also have story reading sessions for preschool children, toy
corners and videos and DVD’s to borrow. |
